What if you could just send Jesus a text and you knew that he would text you right back? Sometimes we have to realize he’s closer than we believe. Our hearts can cause us to doubt when we are discouraged and feel impatient while waiting for the answers to our prayers.
There are times our prayer list seems to be very long and perhaps never ending. Although we can’t send our prayer requests in a “text” to Jesus, we can write them down in a journal. List them and say what’s on our mind. Don’t forget to write the date when you first prayed for that need too. Pray over these requests in your list from day to day as you feel led. Then look back over the list from time to time to see how God is working and what he has done so far.
Most importantly, don’t forget to thank him for each need or prayer request that you have listed, even before you see that he has answered it. You may find that his reply could be “yes!”,” done deal”, “wait”, or “I have something better in mind”. Give him praise and thanks to show that you trust him and believe he is faithful to answer your prayer requests, in his time, according to his will and for his glory. Amen!
Rejoice always; pray without ceasing; in everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 16-18
